Saltaire - Built by Sir Titus Salt in 1851
I poured many hours and research into this image, starting out with the composition inspired by old paintings from Bradford’s Stuart Hirst, each building drawn separately in Adobe illustrator, carving out shapes that represent the various aspects of the structures. The cobbles themselves took hours to connect and colour. There’s also the Hockney colour palette I so wanted to include as I got going with the project, it needed some clever treatment to make it stand out. And finally to make it look like twilight to fit in with my other projects. Lots of work resulting in this now being one of my most popular crafted digital images sold as a limited edition signed mounted giclée print.
Now sold in Saltaire at Giddy Arts, The Yorkshire Gallery in the Piece Hall and unlimited edition giclée prints sold online at TivFoto.co.uk
